Processing categories (feed):

• Grinding (hammer mill, roller mill) – particle size distribution, impact on starch gelatinization.
• Mixing (tilting mixer 1,500 L / 600 L) – homogeneous dosing of macro/micro components.
• Conditioning & expanding (long conditioner, expander) – sanitization, density, thermal profiles.
• Pressing & cooling (double press, counterflow cooler) – pellet quality (PDI), fines, energy.
• Storage & dosing (stock silos, midicomponent) – flow, segregation, traceability.
• Homogenization (homogenization silos) – stability of mixtures and premixes.
• Sensors – real-time logging of temperature, energy consumption, throughput.

Examples of test projects:

• Optimizing pellet formulations for broiler chickens using alternative proteins (insect meal).
• Benchmarking energy consumption before and after conditioning; LCA input for emission models.
• Microdosing of synthetic amino acids on a small-scale production line – absorption & performance.
